Discussion 2: Big Data (100 points)

Read the attached pdf file: “What’s Your Data Strategy?” from Harvard Business Review.

Instructions:

  • Each primary post must include at one reference(cited in primary post) and be at least equal to 250 words minimum to qualify, but up to 500 words to be considered an “A” posting.
  • All research needs to be cited at the end of the primary post.
  • All articles must be derived from reputable business and technology sources. No personal blogs, wikis, etc. Please, ask if you are unsure of what I am looking for in citations.

Students will need to post their primary post by Saturday, October 15th at 11:59PM Central time.

You can write you primary post on any topic related to the article or other big data topics. Possible topics for your primary post:

What is a data strategy?

Describe the concept of playing offence versus defense.

What is a data architecture?

What is a data governance?

Please, do not attach the articles or email me the pdfs. Use APA citation style:

The three (3) rebuttal posts are due by Tuesday, October 18th at 11:59PM Central time and enhance or challenge other students’ postings in the class over the entire week (days 1-7). Each peer response should have at 100 words to qualify, but there are no required citations nor bibliography needed for peer responses.

Evaluation for posts (100 points each post):

Primary post – (proper content and length with at least one citation = 70 points)

Rebuttals – (at least 3 throughout the week = 30 points)
